Dear colleagues,
It is our pleasure to invite you to participate to the “Second International Workshop on Geomechanics and Energy” that will be held in Celle (Germany) on 13-15 October 2015. The final annoucement, including the workshop program, is available
on the following link:

Also, more information about the event can be found on the workshop website. The workshop offers an excellent opportunity for debate and learning on the challenging topic of geomechanical engineering of energy geo-systems. Moreover, the workshop is linked to the Sustainable Earth Sciences Conference and Exhibtion (SES 2015). Delegates will have the possibility to attend presentations and sessions of both meetings, giving access to a total of 10 keynote lectures, 33 oral presentations and 37 poster presentations.
The sessions of the workshop on Geomechanics and Energy will be dedicated to the following topics:
- Nuclear waste disposal
- Geomechanics for CO2 storage
- Geomechanics for geothermal energy
- Hydrocarbon exploration and production
Prior to the start of the workshop, a short course will be held on Monday 12 October 2015. The objective of this course is to give an insight into modern trends in geomechanics for multi-phase and non-isothermal geo-materials in relation to the design and exploitation of man-made geo-systems.
The registrations for the course and the workshop are currently opened and we would be glad to welcome you in Celle to participate to the workshop.
Best regards,
Lyesse Laloui (EPFL, Lausanne) and Bertrand (ULB, Brussels)
